BRÉHAIN

Département : Moselle

Blason de Bréhain

Official blazon

De gueules à la lance d'or en pal mouvant d'une rivière ondée d'argent accostée de deux saumons adossés du même.

Origin/meaning

The two salmon are taken from the arms of the Viviers barony, to which the village historically belonged. The base and the staff refer to the local patron saint, St. Gengoult (Gangulphus) and the magical fountain he is associated with.
