The arms were officially granted on ??

The arms are based on the design of the arms of Trusetal, without the letter T and the miner's tools of the arms of Trusetal were replaced by the tools with the chisel from the arms of Brotterode. The number of waves was increased from 6 to seven, for the 7 settlements in the municipality.
