CAHAGNES
Département : Calvados
[[File:Cahagnes.jpg|center|300 px[[Category:|alt-Blason de Cahagnes / Arms of Cahagnes]]
French | De gueules au lion d'or supportant un glaive d'argent garni d'or; au chef d'or chargé de trois roses de gueules. |
English | No blazon/translation known. Please click here to send your (heraldic !) blazon or translation |
Origin/meaning
The arms are those of the Novince d'Aubigny family, to which the village historically belonged. The colours, howver, were changed to distinguish the arms from the family arms. Also, a sword, taken from the arms of the Abbey of Notre-Dame du Val in Cahagnes has been added, as the abbey played a major role in the local development.
