Origin/meaning

The arms combine the elements from the historical arms of the lower and upper city. The lower city used an Agnus Dei and a bordure with fleur-de-lis, the upper city a castle with a small shield with the three fleur-de-lys of France.

Literature: J.J. Lartigue, Armorial général des communes de France, Paris, 1995.
