Blason de Challans / Arms of Challans
Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The municipality uses the motto : "In viam prosperitatis et pacis". The boat is a Chaland de Loire, a flat bottomed boat as used on the Loire River, and thus a canting symbol. I have no information on the meaning of the star and tower.
