Origin/meaning

The arms were officially adopted in 1983.

The blue pale and chief refer to the confluence of the Bourbre and Rhône rivers in the municipality. The owl (chouette) is a canting element for the possible origin of the name. The wheel refers to the (former) water mill and the garb signifies the importance of agriculture. The heraldic dolphin symbolises the Dauphiné region.
