Heraldry of the World Civic heraldry of Germany - Deutsche Wappen (Gemeindewappen/Kreiswappen) |
DARSTEIN
State : Rheinland-Pfalz
District (Kreis) : Südwestpfalz
Verbandsgemeinde : Verbandsgemeinde Hauenstein
Official blazon
Von Blau und Silber schräglinks geteilt, oben rechts ein rotbewehrter silberner Adler, unten links ein von vier roten Kugeln bewinkeltes schwebendes, geradarmiges, angetatztes blaues Kreuz.
Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on January 18, 1984.
Darstein belonged until 1793 to the Lindelbronn Estate, which was owned by the Counts von Leiningen-Hardenburg-Dagsburg. The eagle and the colours of the arms are taken from the original arms of the Counts of Leiningen. The base is taken from the seal of the local sheriff Stoffel von Darstein from 1750.
