Origin/meaning

The first time arms appear on the seal of Dietmannsried is in 1820. It shows the rooster and pigeon and the division of the shield. There is nothing in the lower part. In 1835 the present arms appear and have not changed since.

The origin of the figures is not clear. The colours probably are taken from the arms of the abbey of Kempten, which owned the area. Some important families in the area used the animals, f.e. the Vorner family used a pigeon and the Laufner family a rooster. Whether the figures are taken from these arms is not known.

The origin of the heart is not known at all.
