State : Baden-Württemberg
District (Kreis) : Ludwigsburg (until 1972 Leonberg)
Additions : 1971 Heimerdingen, Schöckingen; 1975 Hirschlanden

Wappen von Ditzingen

Official blazon

In gespaltenem Schild vorne in Silber zwei schräg gekreuztein Mauerhaken, hinten in Rot unter einem silbernen Kreuz mit Tatzenenden eine gestürzte silberne Pflugschar.

Origin/meaning

The arms were devised and granted in 1926.

The left half shows two crossed hooks, of wolf-irons. These were used as an old village symbol and are known as such since 1682. The cross in the upper left corner represents the monasteries of Hirsau and Reichenbach, who owned some ground in the municipality.

The plough iron represents the agriculture in the municipality.
