Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on January 30, 1995.

The arms combine elements for the for former municipalities. The oak tree in the base is taken from the old arms (see below). The wheel is the wheel of the State of Mainz and symbolises the parts that historically belonged to Mainz. The jar is taken from the arms of the Lords of Riedern. The banner is the banner of St. Mauritius, patron saint of Heppdiel.

The previous arms were granted in 1959:

The previous arms are canting, showing some acorns (Eicheln). The acorns already appear on a stone in the local church, which dates from 1680. As no colours were known, the red and silver of the State of Mainz were chosen. Eichenbühl belonged to Mainz until 1803.
