Shoulder Sleeve Insignia. Description: On a vertical rectangle arched convexly at top and bottom and edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) black border divided quarterly white and purple, in first quarter a white wildcat head outlined and detailed purple and in fourth quarter an oil derrick purple. Attached above a white scroll edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) black border and inscribed “EL DORADO” in black letters. Attached below a white scroll edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) black border and inscribed “HIGH SCHOOL” in black letters. The overall dimensions are 3 1/2 inches (8.89 cm) in height by 2 1/4 inches (5.72 cm) in width.

Shoulder Loop Insignia. Description: A Silver color metal and enamel device 1 1/4 inches (3.18 cm) in height consisting of a shield blazoned: Purpure, a wildcat’s face Sable garnished Argent: above and between two Purple oil derricks pilewise each issuing a Black gusher of oil arcing and combining as a scroll above the shield then inscribed “PRIDE AND PROGRESS” in Silver letters.

Origin/meaning

Shoulder Sleeve Insignia: Purple, black and white are the colors of the school. The wildcat is the school mascot. The derrick represents the “wildcat drillers” associated with the early history of the school’s location and reflects the cadets’ dedication to school, community and country.

Shoulder Loop Insignia: Purple, black and white are the colors of the school. The wildcat is the school mascot. “Pride and Progress” is the school motto. The derricks represent the “wildcat drillers” associated with the early history of the school’s location and reflect the cadets’ dedication to school, community and country.

The Shoulder Sleeve Insignia and Shoulder Loop Insignia was both approved on 4 November 1999.
