Official blazon

i skjold to gange tværdelt af blåt og sølv, en lodret stillet issavklinge i omvendte tinkturer. Skjoldet hviler på et anker hvorover en kongekrone.

Origin/meaning

Named after the Vice Admiral Peter Jensen Bredal. In the Winter of 1658 He led his ships out of the frozen Nyborg Fjord into safety from the Swedish attack, this action is symbolised by the Arms. He himself was killed in action in December 1658 trying to assault a Swedish Ship off Als. Approved by HM the Queen on 7 May 1975.
