Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on October 16, 1998.

The fish in the upper part refers to the formerly very important fisheries for the village. The sheep heads refer to agriculture and in particular to sheep breeding. Each head symbolizes one of the villages in the municipality, Gager and Gross Zicker. The base shows a modern sailing boat and refers to the importance of water based tourism for the municipality.
