GALLENKIRCH

Canton : Aargau
Incorporated into : 2013 Bözberg

Wappen von Gallenkirch/Arms (crest) of Gallenkirch

Official blazon

Gespalten von Gelb mit geastetem braunem Holzstamm und von Blau mit getatztem gelben Kreuz.

Origin/meaning

The arms were adopted on November 8, 1956.

The stick is derived from the legend of St. Gallus, the local patron saint, who fought a bear with a stick of wood. The cross is a symbol for the former chapel of St. Gallus.
