Official blazon

In Silber nebeneinander eine aufrechte blaue Hirschstange und ein rot bewehrter und rot bezungter blauer Löwe.

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted in 1952.

The arms show the lion of the Counts of Gammertingen, who founded the town in the 12th century. Gammertingen received city rights in 1265, but was at the time a possession of the Counts of Veringen. The deer antler is derived from the arms of the Counts of Veringen. The combination appears for the first time on the oldest seal of the city, dating from the late 14th century. The colours are known since 1535.
