These three villages then formed the &quot;Dreidörfervogtei&quot; (three-village area) of the semi-independent territory of the Abbey. The abbey ruled the are until 1802. The arms show the letter A taken from the arms of the Abbey with three stars representing the three villages. The colours are those of the [[State of Mainz]].
