Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on August 16, 1967.
In 1296 the Seligenstadt Abbey acquired the villages of Hofstädten, Geiselbach and Omersbach from the Archbishop of Mainz. These three villages then formed the "Dreidörfervogtei" (three-village area) of the semi-independent territory of the Abbey. The abbey ruled the are until 1802.
