Origin/meaning

The arms probably date from the early 18^th century. The colours are known since 1835 and are derived from the arms of the Counts of Schwarzenberg, who ruled the town in the 18^th century.

The arms are canting, showing in the upper half a whip (Geissel) and in the lower half a dog (Windhund).
