Escudo de verde, livro aberto de prata, guarnecido de vermelho, brocantes, duas palmas de ouro, postas em pala e alinhadas em faixa, tudo entre das espigas de milho de ouro, folhadas do mesmo, acantonadas em chefe de um pé de ondeado de prata e azul. Coroa mural de prata de três torres. Listel branco com a legenda a negro: “ GEMUNDE - MAIA “.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on November 10, 1999.

The book and the two palm leaves refer to the local patron saint Cosmas and Damianus. The green field and the corn cobs refer to the nature and the agricultural character of the parish. The base symbolises the Setões river.
