Shoulder Sleeve Insignia. Description: On a red vertical rectangle arched convexly at the top and bottom and edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) black border, a black panther with head down as if stalking prey. Attached above the rectangle, a black scroll edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) black border inscribed “GLEN OAKS” in white letters. Attached below the rectangle, a black scroll edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) black border inscribed “PANTHERS” in white letters. The overall dimensions are 3 1/2 inches (8.89 cm) in height by 2 5/8 inches (6.67 cm) in width.

Shoulder Loop Insignia. Description: A silver color, metal and enamel oval shaped device 1 3/16 inches (3.02 cm) in width overall consisting of a black panther crouching on a rock cliff with head downward looking over the cliff as if waiting to attack the prey below. Surrounding the device is a red crescent within a black scroll of three folds inscribed “GLEN OAKS PANTHERS” in base metal letters.

Origin/meaning

Shoulder Sleeve Insignia: Red and black are the school’s colors. The panther is the school’s mascot and represents the cadet’s fierce winning spirit. The shoulder sleeve insignia was approved on 3 December 2003.
