  • Wapen: Deursnede; I, in goud, 'n rooi bliksemskig; II in swart, 'n silwer paal belaai met 'n swart paal, daarop 'n goue graaf, aan weerskante vergesel van 'n goue lokomotiefwiel.
  • Helmteken: 'n Swart fakkel, rooi gevlam, tussen twee disteblomme geblaar van natuurlike kleur.
  • Wrong en Dekklede: Goud en swart.
  • Wapenspreuk: PROGRESSIO ET CONCORDIA

  • Arms: Per fess Or and Sable, in chief a thunderbolt Gules, in base a pale Argent, thereon another Sable charged with a spade between two locomotive wheels Or.
  • Crest: A torch Sable enflamed Gules between two thistles leaved proper.

  • Motto: PROGRESSIO ET CONCORDIA

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on January 6, 1972.

The black field and thunderbolt alludes to the coal mines and the fact that one of South Africa's first coal-fired power stations was built in Glencoe.
