Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on August 4, 1818 and again on April 16, 1844.

The meaning of the arms is not known, the tree was granted in 1818 as an orange tree, for the Dutch Royal House of Oranje-Nassau. After the Belgian independence the tree was changed to an oak tree in 1844.

The tools indicate the agriultural character of the village
