Wappen von Großenbrode

Official blazon

In Blau unter einem silbernen holsteinischen Nesselblatt zwei kreuzweise gestellte goldene Dreschflegel, bewinkelt von drei sechsstrahligen goldenen Sternen.

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on February 2, 1989.

The main symbol of the arms shows the importance of agriculture in the municipality. The stars are a traditional symbol for sailing, and represent the important activities at present, fishing, sailing and tourism. The trhee stars also represent the villages of Grossenbrode, Klaustorf and Lütjenbrode. The nettle-leaf in the upper part is taken from the arms of Holstein, the colours are taken from the arms of the Ostholstein district.
