GROSS-STEINBACH

State : Steiermark
District : Hartberg-Fürstenfeld (until 2015 Fürstenfeld)

Wappen von Großsteinbach
Official blazon
German blazon wanted !
English

The arms were granted on June 6, 1966.

The main charge of this coat of arms is the so-called Schachblume (Fritillary, Fritillaria meleagris). This is a rare flower, severely protected, which, in Styria, can only be found in Groß-Steinbach.

The base is derived from a so-called Burgstall, a small castle, that existed here in medieval times, but since then has disappeared. A local legend mentions a "sunk" castle.
