Punaisessa kentässä alareunaltaan aaltokoroinen, kilven reunasta toiseen ulottuva muuri, josta nousee kaksi jyrkkäkattoista tornia ja näiden välissä rakennus; kaikki hopeaa, ikkuna-aukot ovat mustat ja linnan yläpuolella saatteena kultaiset auringonkasvot.

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on September 21, 1956.

The arms are based on the seal of the city from the 17th century. The castle depicts the local castle, built in the 13th century, around which the town grew.

Until 1956 the city used the arms below:

In the 19th century a proposal was made for the arms of the city, based on the general style of the Russian Empire at the time, showing the provincial arms in a canton.
