Arms (crest) of Hals

Origin/meaning

The arms were registered in 1984.

The arms show the local fortress built in 1653 under King Frederik III to defend the Limfjord. The three starfish are symbolising the coast of the municipality, as well as the three former municipalities. Literature: Achen, 1982; Zeuthen, 2000
