Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on July 9, 1938.

The arms show a unicorn, which is derived from the arms of the medieval family Von Huchtebrock, which for a long time lived at the castle in Heeren. The unicorn already appeared on the seal of Heeren in 1646.
