English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted in 1914.

The wall is a symbol for the city, which was built on drained marshlands, which are symbolised by the wavy bar in the base of the shield. The hammer is taken as a canting symbol for the former Hammerum district, in which the city is situated. The bird is a golden plover (hjejle), a typical bird for the marshlands.
