HOFKIRCHEN AN DER TRATTNACH

State : Oberösterreich
District : Grieskirchen

Wappen von Hofkirchen an der Trattnach

Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on January 8, 1929.

The ibex is derived from the arms of Moritz Prechensteiner, the local parish priest from 1709-1746, who played a major role in the local development.

The wavy bar refers to the Trattnach river. The base refers to the agricultural character of the municipality. The four ears refer to the four villages Gassen, Hofkirchen, Schalbach and Still.
