Province (Landskap): Uppland
County (Län): Stockholms län
Additions : 1952 Ed, Fresta, Hammarby

Jarfalla.jpg

Official blazon

I grönt fält ett stående tillbakaseende lamm av silver med beväpning av guld, hållande med högra frambenet en ginbalksvis ställd, med dubbelkors med svagt utböjda armar försedd stång av guld.

Origin/meaning

The arms have been used since 1955, but wer eonly registered in 1977.

The arms are derived from the former Sollentuna district, part of which was transformed in the Järfälla municipality. The oldest known seal, known since 1560, of Sollentuna already showed the Paschal lamb (Agnus Dei). The meaning of the unusual double cross is not known (a banner with a cross is more common).
