Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on April 11, 1994.
The arms are based on the oldest seal of the village, dating from 1761. The bagpipes (gajdy) are only used twice as a symbol in Slovak heraldry (Veľké Revištia is the other municipality with bagpipes). The origin of the symbol is not known; there are two possible explanations. the first is that the arms ar e canting for the sound of the bagpipe, which is Slovak is named jačanie. The other is that in old documents the family name Gajdoš appears for people in the village. Both are historically not proven.
