Origin/meaning

The bread basket and the motto refer to the family name, Panis, meaning bread in Latin. The fish is a symbol for the eucharist. The palm is taken from the arms of Manado. The heart is the symbol of the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, of which he was a member.
