Origin/meaning

The arms show a canting mill wheel (Mueller is German for miller). The background colour is red, symbolizing love and martyrdom, for the Bishop has chosen as his motto: "Jesum Ardenter Quaerite" - Seek Jesus lovingly.

The fleur-de-lys, represents the Bishop's Patron Saint, St. Joseph, as well as the university where he took his training, the Pontifical University of the Josephinum.
