Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on May 30, 1975.

The origin of the arms is not quite clear, it is taken from the arms of one of the branches of the Lords of Kaay. The original arms of the lords were a lion over which was placed a bend. The colours are not known. Whether the arms as they are used now, have actually belonged to a branch of the Lords of Kayl that ruled over Kayl is not known.
