Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on October 16, 1978.

The upper half shows a Roman helmet and sword, which refer to the Roman settlement in the municipality, which later developed in to the present village. They also refer to the local patron saint, St. Martin, who was a Roman soldier.

The hunting horn refers to the former castles and hunting estates in the municipality as well as to the large forests. The wavy bar is the Krems river.

Literature : Baumert, H.E. : Oberösterreichische Gemeindewappen, Linz, 1996.
