Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on July 29, 1927.

The arms are based on the arms of the former Hirschtal Abbey, which existed from 1463-1796. The arms of the Abbey showed St. Mary and a deer's head. The right half is canting, Bach means brook or river.
