Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on February 17, 1989.

The bend refers to the Duwenbach river in the municipality. The hook is taken from the arms of the medieval Von Gagern family, known since the 15th century. The other symbols and colour refer to the agricultural character of the municipality.
