Parti: au 1er d'or au coq hardi de sable, au 2e coupé au I de gueules au château d'argent, ouvert et ajouré du champ, au II de gueules à la gerbe de blé d'or liée d'argent; le tout sommé d'un chef d'azur chargé de trois fleurs de lis d'or.

Origin/meaning

The arms combine elements of three former lords of the village, Godefroy de Potis (silver castle), Jean Campdavaine (garbs) and Jean Aléaume (rooster).

In addition the chief of France was added as part of the municipality was a royal possession. Also, several French kings resided (shortly) in the town.
