Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on April 17, 1996.

The candle symbolizes and represents factories wax candles, which existed in the parish. The jug similarly symbolises the pottery industry.
The bunch of grapes symbolizes the wine production, which gives rise to the famous wines of Lagoa.

The green colour refers to the agriculture and the base to the, now dry, lagoons and ponds after which the parish is named.
