Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on October 20, 1980.

The three lion heads represents the history of the former autonomous towns Atzbach, Dorlar and Waldgirmes. The golden heads on blue ground indicates the affiliations of Atzbach and Dorlar to the principality of Nassau-Weilburg from the late middle ages until 1816, the red and silver head represents that Waldgirmes was part of the grand duchy Hessen-Darmstadt.
