Origin/meaning

The arms were officially adopted on August 4, 2006.

The yellow gentian plant (Croatian encijan or lincura, loccaly known as sirištara, Latin Gentiana sp.) is very common in the mountain regions of Lanišće. It is threatened worldwide since its roots have recognized therapeutic properties and are also used in the liquor industry. It is protected in Croatia since 1955.
