LAUTZENHAUSEN

State : Rheinland-Pfalz
District (Kreis) : Rhein-Hunsrück Kreis (until 1968 Simmern)
Verbandsgemeinde : Verbandsgemeinde Kirchberg (Hunsrück)

Lautzenhausen.jpg

Origin/meaning :
The arms were granted on February 22, 1988.

The blue and golden chequered field is taken from the arms of the Counts of Sponheim, who ruled the area for many centuries. The chief shows two wings, symbolising the US airbase at Hahn, which is of great importance to the local economy. The base shows the historical local fountain, that used to be the centre of the village.
