Origin/meaning
The arms were adopted on February 20, 1970 and officially granted on January 20, 1971.
The rainbow is derived from the arms of the medieval Knights of Lelm, who had large possessions in the area from the 12th until the 15th century. The rainbow is placed above a green mountain, which symbolises the Elm.
