LEMKE

State : Niedersachsen
District (Kreis) : Nienburg
Incorporated into : 1974 Marklohe

Wappen von Lemke/Arms (crest) of Lemke
Official blazon
German In Grün übe goldenem Wellenbalken ein goldenes dreiblättriges Kleeblatt.
English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on September 8, 1967.

The wavy bar in the arms is a canting element, the name supposedly is derived from the words Lem-Beke, where Beke means stream or river. The green field and the trefoil symbolise the agricultural character of the area. The golden colour of the trefoil symbolises the sandy soils.
