LENGNAU

Canton : Aargau

Wappen von Lengnau (Aargau)

Official blazon

In Rot auf grünem Boden schreitendes weisses Pferd.

Origin/meaning

The arms are taken from the logo of the Rössli inn in the village. The horse (Ross) is a canting symbol. The inn was an important place in the village and its owner, Kasper Josef Bucher was 28 years the 'mayor' of the municipality until 1831.

Why the village chose to use the logo as its arms in the 1930s is no longer known.
