Origin/meaning

The wing in the right half of the arms is the wing of a crane. The wing is derived from the arms of the medieval noble family Von der Lieth, who had their residence and several possessions in Lintig. The key is derived from the arms of the city and diocese of Bremen, as the territory was a possession of Bremen until 1654. The colours are those of the family and also of Bremen.
