Ljungskile kommunvapen

Official blason

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on March 27, 1953.

The ax and oak tree are taken from the seal of the Inlands Fräkne hundred, known from the 17th century and refer to the many oak forests and the importance of forestry at the time.

The red and silver are taken from the colours of the flag of the historical Fräkne regiment, which was based in the area.
