====Origin/meaning====
Since the beginning of the 17th century the arms of the city show a knight. Often the arms were shown with an axe instead of a cross and a whip instead of a rose. The knight supposedly symbolises the owner of the castle Breitenham and Lucka, who took part in one of the crusades. When he returned he granted city rights to Lucka as well as a knight in its arms. The old arms of Lucka showed a single rose, which was then reduced to a smaller shield beside the knight.

Origin/meaning

Since the beginning of the 17th century the arms of the city show a knight. Often the arms were shown with an axe instead of a cross and a whip instead of a rose. The knight supposedly symbolises the owner of the castle Breitenham and Lucka, who took part in one of the crusades. When he returned he granted city rights to Lucka as well as a knight in its arms. The old arms of Lucka showed a single rose, which was then reduced to a smaller shield beside the knight.
