Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on November 6, 1979.

The red cross is the symbol of the [{State of Trier]], to which the village historically belonged from 1326-1799. The palm leaf and stones refer to the local patron saint since 1552, St. Stephen. He also appeared on the oldest village seal from 1677.
