MARÇÀ

Region : Catalonia
Province : Tarragona

Escudo de Marçà/Arms (crest) of Marçà
Official blazon
Catalan Escut caironat: d'or, una mà d'atzur; el cap de sable. Per timbre, una corona mural de poble.
English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

These arms were officially granted on January 31, 1983.

Canting arms: they show traditionally a "mà" (Catalan for "hand"). The black chief on gold is taken from the arms of the barons of Entença, the lords of the village since the 12th century.
