Selected collector's items from Germany:

MINDEN (MI)

State : Nordrhein-Westfalen
Incorporated into : 1972 Minden-Lübbecke

Wappen von Minden (kreis)

Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on August 6, 1935.

The county historically belonged to the Prince-Bishops of Minden and the counts of Ravensberg. This is symbolised in the arms of the county, where one of the keys of the arms of the diocese of Minden is taken and two chevrons of the arms of Ravensberg. The Prince-Bihops of Minden had several strongholds in the county, namely Minden, Hausberge, Petershagen and Schlüsselburg.
